Game Designer and Programmer

I'm Zack; Game Designer, Game Programmer, Game Player.
I've spent the bulk of my professional career in R&D at both PlayStation and Riot Games. Over more than 5 years making games, I've worked as both a designer and programmer on countless pieces of content from levels, modes, characters, and weapons to gameplay systems, metagame progression, and thesis-sized pitches for game pivots.
As a Technical Game Designer, I bring many x-factors to the table. My favorite is my ability to push overall team velocity forward. I do this by building tools and improving pipelines as I go along, as well as regularly unblocking/mentoring other designers and artists. I'm always giddy to help or at least find the right teammate to help, especially when when less than an hour of my time can save hours or days of someone else's.
I'm passionate about what I do. It's been my job these past few years to be a whole designer and half a programmer and while that might sound like a lot, it's been nothing but a privilege. With the experience I bring, I'm confident I can raise the bar on whatever team will have me next.
